Phone Search + videos from last night
Despite coming back at around 7 this morning, I only slept for a few hours before having to make a phone call to the states. I went back to sleep for a while - which turned out to be me laying in bed looking at the ceiling for a while. I eventually headed in to Tel Aviv. I was hoping that the theater would be open - it wasn't. I called with skype and left a message, hopefully I will hear back tonight or tomorrow (maybe I will be lucky and it will be found at the theater, I am back in Yafo again tomorrow, so I will try again in person)
I walked from the central bus station down to yafo, then retraced my steps all along the beach. I checked with each lifeguard stand in case I was mistaken where I stopped the night before - but no lifeguards had found my phone. It looks like I will need to replace it which is frustrating, since I am not here much longer. I have to decide if I want to buy something myself in Israel or ask Dashiell to pick up something for me.
Below are two clips from Let it Beer, quality is awful, but it's expected given that these were taken using my blackberry. I wisely chose not to bring my camera to this event.

Yesterday, I headed in to Tel Aviv after lunch. I spent a few hours playing volleyball with Xan, had dinner with him and Katie and made my way to Yafo for Let it Beer - a Beatles cover band concert with free beer until the kegs run out.
Somewhere between the concert and the beach, my phone took a separate path from me. I retraced my steps all the way from Gordon beach back to the venue, which was closed at 6AM strangely enough, searched the surrounding area, then walked to the central bus station where I took a sherut to Ramla.
Fell asleep on the sherut and was woken up at the other end of Ramla, so I had to walk back from the bus station to the Yoseftal apartment. I will need a temporary replacement I guess, and a new sim card from cellcom, the question remains whether it is worth it given the circumstances (I am leaving so soon). I am required to have a phone in the program, so something needs to be done.

Just finished Three cups of tea
Powerful story. I would recommend it, compelling story of the pursuit of a dream and what it takes to turn that dream into reality.
In the jazareel valley, was just overlooking Tivon. After speaking with Fani last night, I hope to come back to visit family along this beauitful valley.

tel aviv, not a bad place to wait
There was a bit of confusion regarding today with my extended family, who are over from the states. They emailed last night that today would be good to meet, but I didn't respond in time to set definite plans. Still, after ulpan I headed in to Tel Aviv in hopes of hearing from them this afternoon.
I ended up at a nice cafe where over a few hours I plowed through most of my book. Getting restless, I agreed to meet up with Xan for some volleyball. We warmed up against the older couple, and then two guys came that were pretty good, they attacked almost every play which means a lot more digs, still not much of a defensive game.
Afterwards, we did day 1 again of the 100 push up challenge, or as much as we could. Passed on the lunges to the water. Very sore at the moment.
I got through to my family, and heard they were tied up until 11, so I went for dinner with Xan and Katie at their place, talked for a while, and then headed across the street to the Hilton to read in the lobby and chatted with a group of Canadians visiting.
After meeting up and catching up, I caught a sherut on Dizengoff to Tachanah Mercazit. The last sherut had no one in it for Ramla / Lod. After a while some men asked me if I would be willing to cover the other seats. I declined, not in a rush I said. Don't you want to get home to your wife, don't you have to get up in the morning they asked me, for work. Nope I said, and went back to standing under the street light reading. They were getting really frustrated, well we do they said. Sorry I said, back to reading.
The driver even came over to try and coax me into splitting the cost between the four of us for the entire sherut. Nope, I said. I was suckered into that once before. Let the person who needs to get home so badly pay - anyway, they could get a taxi for less between them for what they were paying, but I chose not to share this information.
I explained the sherut at this hour cost 14 shekels, and that is what I would pay. I had good light to read, was in no rush to go home, and didn't mind waiting.
Eventually, we got in, I passed up my 14 shekels in exact change so that there would be no confusion, they all paid the premium to go home (about 30-40 shekels a person), and we left. Only downside was that he went to Lod first, which annoyed two of the other people, who had paid extra. Technically, they don't have to pay anything extra to get the driver to go. By law, the sherut has to leave after a certain amount of time - filled or not filled, but I guess that law isn't really enforced.
Kinneret tomorrow, and then not sure about Shabbat plans.

Dashiell is coming, is not coming, is coming...
I have been excited with the anticipation of my brother coming, something I learned about two weeks ago. Of course, it has been somewhat of a roller coaster as he has struggled to get a spot on the taglit trip. Take note of the timing of these emails:
